Wedding Planning Tips for a Fun, Stress-Free Wedding Day

Planning your wedding? Recently engaged and wondering where to even start? You’re not alone! Whether you’ve just said “yes” or have been engaged for a while and are only now diving into the world of venues, dresses, and Pinterest boards, this guide is here to help with some real, down-to-earth wedding planning tips.

There’s SO much information out there and a million choices to make – barn, hotel, or tipi wedding? Big bash or intimate gathering? And let’s not even start on the unsolicited advice you’ll get from everyone (especially in Facebook groups 🙈). But don’t worry – here are a few of my go-to tips as someone who’s seen weddings of every kind.

1. It’s Your Day – Plan It Your Way

This is one of the most important pieces of wedding advice: it’s YOUR wedding. Be kind, but don’t try to please everyone. Stay true to yourselves as a couple, invite who you want, and don’t let others take the joy out of the process. Plan the day you’ve always dreamed of – whatever that looks like for you.

2. Set Up a Wedding Email Address

You’ll be chatting with lots of suppliers, guests, and venues – and keeping track of it all in your personal inbox can be chaos. Setting up a dedicated wedding email makes it so much easier to stay organised.

Also, don’t be afraid to ask your suppliers for recommendations! We’ve worked with so many fab people and I’m always happy to shout out my favourites. If you want to see what I offer, head over to my wedding photography packages.

3. Take Your Time Choosing Your Squad & Suppliers

Here’s a big one in the world of wedding planning tips: do not rush. Take the time to figure out what you really want. Pick three priorities – for me it would be the venue, photography (obvs 😄), and food – and focus your energy there first.

Choosing your wedding party is just as important. You want people around you who support and uplift you – not stress you out. Trust your gut, and take your time.

4. Stay Connected to Each Other

On the day, try to be present. Hold hands. Sneak little looks. Whisper to each other. The day will fly by, but these moments of connection are the ones you’ll remember forever. If things feel overwhelming, just come back to each other.

5. Remember What It’s All About

At the end of the day, if you’re married to your best friend – it was a massive success. Things may go wrong (trust me, they always do in some tiny way), but that’s okay. You’re doing this for love – and that’s the only thing that really matters.
